Living in England would be my first home away from home in my trip around the world. In the green hills of Kent, nicknamed The Garden of England, I stayed with the Alsalman family.
Working as an au pair taught me the value of play. Alizee and Leo could turn any moment into a game or activity – creating fun out of everything.
Everyday I spent with the children, I woke with a new adventure to look forward to. Alizee and Leo reconnected me to appreciate the small pleasures that each day holds.
As we age I think it is important that we not forget the amount of available joy we have the potential to create – even from nothing.
One day, not so long ago, we were all children and our entire focus was only on play. It seems to me that such a desire cannot simply just pass away, but maybe gets suppressed by our growing responsibilities.
How would the quality of our lives change if every once and a while we decided to play with life just a little?
